Classroom 2.0 is like a Facebook specialized for educators. There are multiple forums for anyone to ask questions about anything education-wise and anyone can comment back to answer their questions. There are groups to join for teachers to create for their students to join to find information. There are also a lot of videos available for watching.
We chose to visit classroom 2.0, it currently has 80,00 members who are all teachers. It is really geared towards beginner teachers, and giving them tips and tricks for their first years as a teacher. You can search for different topics, and apply it to your content area. You can also ask questions and people will respond to you!
I checked out Classroom 2.0. It has a forum area, which I found very helpful. Different educators have posted questions, tips, or comments there. This website has a focus on social media to connect educators with ideas and websites. I like the focus on educators helping educators through comments and such. I can use this in my future classroom by posting questions or looking up different forums with my questions. Then, other educators post websites or their experiences in the comments. This will be a good website to go on for future advice.
We chose to join edWeb.net a professional website that allows an individual to connect with other educators. Within this application we were able to create our own blog and easily find other educators to connect with. It is also a great place to store web links and create a library of important educational sources.
I used edWeb.net and found their Game-Based Learning group: http://www.edweb.net/gaming
It looks like this is just another way to meet educators who share similar ideas as you and to be able to participate in webinars and share relevant information. This site reminds me of using the hashtag chats on Twitter. I think edWeb has a lot of great STEM resources.
I chose http://www.classroom20.com. I found a forum that talked about behavior management techniques that was very interesting. If kids are unruly when I meet them the first time, I can use some of these techniques to help them calm down and show them that everything will be all right in the long run.
We chose to look at Classroom 2.0. Classroom 2.0 is a online resource that can be used by educators to connect with other educators around the world. We searched the different types of groups that are available within their website, and we found that there are multiple groups/discussions for each subject area and topic. We are so excited to use these types of resources as part of our professional connections!
I looked into MI Streamnet and found videos on all different kinds of technology and technology strategies. This is a great resource for informational videos on different subjects. A lot of videos dealt with Moodle and how to use it and different features many people do not utilize on Moodle. Many schools use Moodle and there is a good chance I'll use it in the future so Mi Streamnet will help with that.
